About the Passport Size Photo Maker
Passport photo rules are written in millimetres, while upload forms ask for pixels and kilobytes — and the mismatch is why so many applications are rejected over a photo that looked fine. This tool takes an ordinary photograph and produces a file at an exact official size, at the resolution you choose, under the file-size cap you need, with an optional print sheet.
The sizes it produces
Presets cover 35 x 45 mm (India, the UK, the Schengen countries and most of the world), 51 x 51 mm or 2 x 2 inches (the United States and Indian visa photos), 50 x 70 mm for Canada, 33 x 48 mm for Chinese visas and a 20 x 25 mm stamp size, plus a custom option in millimetres. Choose 300 DPI for the standard result — a 35 x 45 mm photo at 300 DPI is 413 x 531 pixels — or 600 DPI when a print shop asks for more detail.
Hitting a file-size limit
Government portals frequently cap uploads at 20 KB or 50 KB. Set the target and the tool steps the JPEG quality down until the file fits, so you get the best-looking image that still clears the limit instead of guessing at a slider. If a very small cap cannot be met at 600 DPI, drop to 300 or 200 DPI and try again.
Framing the face
Drag the photo to position it and use the zoom slider to size the head. The dashed oval and the two horizontal lines are guides for a typical passport composition: the head fills most of the oval, with a small margin above the hair and the chin above the lower line. Guides are drawn only on the preview — they are never part of the downloaded file.
Printing a sheet
The print sheet tiles your photo across a standard 4 x 6 inch print or an A4 page at 300 DPI with light cut lines, which is how you get six copies from a photo-lab print or thirty from a single A4 sheet. Take the JPG to any print shop, or print it at home on photo paper and cut along the lines.
What this tool does not do
It crops, resizes and compresses to a specification. It does not replace or whiten the background, and it does not verify biometric compliance — head height, expression, lighting and shadows remain your responsibility. What is the standard passport photo size?

What is 35 x 45 mm in pixels?

How do I make a passport photo under 20 KB?
Select your size, set the file size target to “Under 20 KB” and download. The tool lowers the JPEG quality step by step until the file fits. If it cannot reach the cap, switch from 600 DPI to 300 or 200 DPI.
Can I print several passport photos on one page?

Does it change the background to white?
