Choose your deck
Drop a .pptx file onto the panel or click to browse for it. The file is unzipped and read where it sits — your presentation is never sent anywhere, so an unreleased pitch or an internal review deck stays on your own machine.
Pick the page shape
PDF Page Size offers four answers. Match Slide keeps whatever proportions the deck already uses and is the safest default. Widescreen 16:9 suits modern decks built for projectors. A4 and Letter reshape the output for printing on paper, which is what you want if the PDF is going to a printer rather than a screen.
Set the quality
Image Quality runs from Standard to Ultra High. High is preselected because it reads cleanly on screen without inflating the file. Move up to Ultra High only when slides carry small type or fine chart lines that must survive being zoomed into; the file grows noticeably at that setting.
Narrow the slides, if you want
Leave Slides to Convert on All Slides for the whole deck. Switch it to Custom Range and a field appears that accepts both spans and single numbers together, in the form 1-3, 5, 7-10. Handy when only the results section needs circulating.
Decide about speaker notes
Tick Speaker Notes and the text you wrote under each slide is carried into the PDF beneath its slide. Leave it clear for an audience-facing handout — notes very often contain the things you did not intend to say out loud.
Convert and save
Press Convert. Each slide is drawn and placed into the document in order, so a long deck takes a few seconds per handful of slides. Download the finished PDF, or press Clear to drop the file and start over with different settings.
About the PPT to PDF Converter
A .pptx file is not a document in the way it appears to be. It is a ZIP archive, and renaming one to .zip and opening it shows the whole structure: one XML file per slide, plus the images, fonts and relationship maps they reference. That layout is defined by ECMA-376, the Office Open XML standard.
What the conversion actually does
The archive is unpacked in your browser by JSZip, each slide’s XML is read to find the shapes, text and images on it, those elements are drawn onto an HTML canvas, and the finished canvas is placed into a PDF page by jsPDF. Every step happens on your own machine, which is why nothing is uploaded and why there is no size limit beyond available memory.
The consequence: your PDF holds pictures, not text
Because each slide is rasterised before it enters the document, the words in the finished PDF are pixels rather than characters. They cannot be selected, copied or found with Ctrl+F, and a screen reader has nothing to read aloud. That is a real trade and it is worth making deliberately.
What you get in exchange is exact fidelity. Nothing reflows, no substituted font pushes a heading onto a second line, and the deck looks identical on every machine that opens it — which is precisely the problem people are usually trying to solve when they convert a deck at all. If you need a searchable text layer instead, export the PDF from PowerPoint itself; it writes real text objects rather than an image.
Why quality and page size matter more than they look
Since each slide becomes an image, the quality setting decides the resolution of that image, and resolution is the only thing standing between your chart’s axis labels and an unreadable smear when someone zooms in. Page size decides the canvas proportions: Match Slide preserves the deck’s own aspect ratio, while A4 and Letter reshape it for paper and can letterbox a widescreen deck.
What cannot survive the format
Animations, transitions, embedded video and audio have no equivalent in a static page. Each slide is captured in its final state, so builds that reveal bullets one at a time arrive fully revealed. That is a property of PDF itself rather than a limitation of this converter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the text in my PDF be selectable?
No. Each slide is rendered as an image before it goes into the document, so the words are pixels rather than characters. That guarantees the layout survives intact, but it means no text selection, no copy and paste, and no Ctrl+F. Export from PowerPoint directly if you need a searchable text layer.
My file is an old .ppt and it will not open.
The tool reads .pptx, the zipped XML format PowerPoint has used since 2007. The older binary .ppt is a completely different container. Open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or LibreOffice and save a copy as .pptx, then convert that.
Do animations and transitions carry over?
They cannot. A PDF page is static, so each slide is captured in its final state — everything that would have appeared after a click is already visible. Builds that reveal bullets one at a time will therefore show all bullets at once.
What does the custom range accept?
Spans and single slides together, separated by commas: 1-3, 5, 7-10 gives you slides one through three, slide five, and seven through ten, in that order. Spaces are ignored, so type it however is comfortable.
Is there a maximum deck size?
None that we set. The conversion happens inside your browser tab, so the practical limit is available memory. A deck of a few hundred image-heavy slides at Ultra High quality is the point where an older phone may struggle; the same deck at High usually completes.
Are embedded videos included?
No, and nothing can include them — a PDF page cannot play video. The slide is captured with its poster frame or placeholder in place, so the layout stays right even though the clip is gone.
